MYN Leader Council
The MYN Leader Council is a monthly gathering of active and experienced MYN Leaders who understand the importance of neighbors working together. These Leaders collaborate with new MYN Leaders on steps to implement and sustain the MYN program in their neighborhoods.
The Sebastopol Hardware Center collaborated with the Gravenstein Health Action Coalition to support the Meet Your Neighbors Program by providing incentives and organizational help in creating the Leader Council.
Leader Council (LC) members can receive a special Leader Council Gift Card from the Sebastopol Hardware Center when they have accomplished the following 4 steps toward implementing MYN in their neighborhoods.
Participate in an MYN Class sponsored by the Sebastopol Fire Department
Participate in an MYN Leader Council meeting within 60 days of attending the MYN Class to more specifically plan MYN in your neighborhood. By attending this meeting you become a member of the Council
Organize and hold an MYN meeting in your neighborhood
Participate in a second MYN Leader Council meeting to report on and discuss the ease or difficulties in implementing MYN in your neighborhood. And offer insights and opinions on ways to improve the MYN program and implementation assistance.
Participating in the Leader Council improves our local abilities to effectively collaborate and prepare for emergencies. Hearing about what is already being done in local neighborhoods to prepare and what has been learned through those efforts can make your neighborhood efforts more efficient and effective. Circling back to the Leader Council to add your experience is wanted and important to being collaboratively prepared.
